Psychodynamic therapy is interested in the “why,” not just what you are experiencing, but where it comes from and what it means. We pay attention to patterns, to your history, and to what happens in the therapeutic relationship itself. The goal is understanding, and understanding tends to change things.

CBT is practical and skills-based, it focuses on changing thought and behavior patterns. Psychodynamic therapy is more interested in understanding why those patterns exist in the first place. I draw on both, depending on what is most helpful.

This is a private-pay practice. I do not accept insurance directly. However, I provide superbills — detailed receipts you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Depending on your plan, you may be reimbursed for a portion of the cost. I can walk you through how that works.

Most people start with weekly sessions. Some move to twice-weekly, especially when working through something acute or when they want to go deeper. Frequency is something we discuss together based on what feels right.

Yes. All sessions are via telehealth. You can be anywhere in New York or Connecticut, as long as you have a private space where you can talk without interruption.

I am licensed as an LCSW in both New York and Connecticut. I can see clients anywhere in either state.

English and Spanish. I am a native Spanish speaker. Some people prefer to work in their first language; others prefer English. That is your choice.

Yes, with very few exceptions. What you share in therapy is legally protected. I cannot share information without your permission, except in cases where there is imminent danger, abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order. Those situations are rare. I will always be transparent about my obligations.

We talk. I will ask what brought you here, and we will go from there. I will share a bit about how I work. It is a conversation, we are both figuring out if this is a good fit.
